Exercises and Stress
This research study was to determine how aerobics affected stress, anxiety and other forms of maladaptive illness that affect mental state. It was hypothesized that the stress level after the aerobics exercise will be lower than before engaging in aerobic exercises. As by Thomas F., stress is “an event that creates physiological or psychological strain for the individual”. Although, stress is a fact of nature that every human being is subject but, stress has been defined differently by various scientists. (Thomas F., 2006). When forces of the environment is acting upon an individual and the person is not acting in adequate manners to deal to with this matter, things could get out of control resulting in the individual feeling overwhelmed and stressed out which also could allow the individual to feel depressive and anxious about oneself. One way we can deal with stressors is by exercising regularly. By exercising regularly, it doesn’t mean to go to the gym and work out for ten minutes and call it a day; we are talking about working out for a minimum of one full hour. Lisa Balbach (2010) states that aerobic exercise is using similar large muscle group, regularly, for a period of 10 to 45 minutes or longer while maintaining 70-80% of your maximum heart rate. There are several studies that were done to determine a positive correlation between aerobic exercises and stress as well as anxiety and other ailments that might result in our body lack of movement or exercise.
